Charles Harrington | Voluntary Work Experience

Voluntary experience

Theatrical Technical Intern & Adviser at The Bussey Building / CLF Art Cafe - Peckham Rye, Performing Arts Centre. 133 Rye Lane, London, SE15 4ST

While interning at The CLF Art Cafe I had the opportunity to learn how to market and advertise different productions online. I learned how to contact and liaise with producers and theatre goers in order to sell tickets for upcoming productions. It was my role to advertise and to get people on board. I also acted as a talent scout to find new and emerging theatre and would attend productions across London with the Head of Department to find new and emerging theatre to present at the Bussey Building.

Technical Intern / Vivienne Westwood at The Omnibus, Clapham’s Climate Change Conference.
1 Clapham Common Northside, London, SW4 0QW

During my voluntary work with The Omnibus Theatre I had the chance to work on Vivienne Westwood’s climate change conference and the Perception Festival. The production outlined the dreadful effects of climate change happening across the world. My specific role was to assist in crewing the production and also to provide support with Sound and AV.

I also played a vital part in renovating The Omnibus’s stage. I helped build the auditorium from the original thrust style which was removed to a face on style seating plan. This maximized the theatre goers experience for better sound and sight.
